Tammy O. Sunday - November 16, 2008 Thanks so much for coming to Morehead State. This is my second year teaching middle school orchestra, and first year taking some 7th and 8th grade kids there for Tri-State. My kids were completely blown away by your performance. Thanks for being an inspiration!
mack Saturday - November 15, 2008 Thought I was simply going to Morehead today to hear my nephew play at another Tri State event but fell in love with your playing and the variety of what you played in so few songs. I will certainly plan on listening to more of your music and encouraging my nephew to practice more.
Tim Emm Saturday - October 25, 2008 Just come back from your performance of Bruch in Glasgow - WOW come back to Scotland ASAP!!! Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Barbara Lloyd Friday - October 03, 2008 My son is Gus Lloyd, host of Seize the Day, and I was awed by the interview with you. you are a couragous lady, and I look forward to hearing your music.
Jodi Rose Saturday - September 27, 2008 I saw your story on PBS this morning and haven't been able to shake you from my thoughts. I am excited and look forward to listening to your music. You are an inspiration.
Lewis Brinin Wednesday - September 24, 2008 bs'd
I have loved your playing for many years and just thought I would tell you so.
Your tone is warm open hearted, honest in the Oistrakh tradition and keeps the listeners attention like few others. Your musicianship is impeccable and your cd's are among the most enjoyable I have ever heard
Daniel Taylor Monday - September 22, 2008 Thanks for performing in Nampa! I loved listening to your interpretations.
Phil and Margaret Carroll Sunday - September 14, 2008 You were awesome in Boise last evening. What a wonderful way to start our season with you and Robert Franz. We are now listening to your new CD and as always, it's terrific.
Katherine M. Zerfas Thursday - September 11, 2008 My daughter and I saw you on Sept. 9, in Colorado Springs playing the Beethoven violin concerto. You were wonderful, absolutely! We so enjoyed your playing. And your talking to the audience afterward was a gracious gesture. Of course, we liked the Bach you played, too. While Andre Watts was playing, you and your husband (?) came into our box and watched him until he started the third movement of the Emperor. I wanted to tell you then how much I enjoyed your performance, but I didn't have the courage. If you ever come back to play with the Springs Philharmonic, I will be there. My very best to you in your career; I know you have been through a great deal and I hope you will soon be where you belong in your career. Thank you,
Kathy M. Zerfas
Peakharmonic Youth Orchestra Monday - September 08, 2008 Amazing and inspirational, the students and teachers in Colorado Springs will never forget your great comments, wit, and encouragement! Thanks for coming to teach and perform here!
Michelle Brazier Friday - September 05, 2008 Hi Rachel -
Fantastic website. Love it. Signed up for your classical ezine. Will watch for you on the East Coast. Cheers!
Phil and Margaret Carroll Thursday - September 04, 2008 Looking forward to seeing you in Boise this weekend. We saw you 12 years ago and have been waiting for your return.
Warren Tuesday - August 26, 2008 Hi Rachel! I listen to your Brahms Concerto over and over and over. It is one of my favorite CD's. When you come in with the violin comes in the first movement after the orchestra's "buildup" I always ask my kids if they have goosebumps, because I always do! I am very excited to hear your new CD! I am sure it will be brilliant, like the rest of your work. Bravo!
Warren
Deidre Kane Friday - August 01, 2008 You captivated us all at the concert July 31 at fiddle camp. What a delight to listen to you play. How on earth you make a violin sound like a piccolo or play all of those harmonics at lightning speed boggles the mind. The Scottish lament brought images of mists and moors. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and playing for us. Quint was an interesting teacher to have at camp.
Ted Trainor Wednesday - June 25, 2008 Absolutely gorgeous playing.
Makes we feel like setting fire
to my own violin -- (well not really). Thanks for sharing your marvelous talent here!
Peter Wednesday - April 30, 2008 We want to thank you for such a beautiful performance of Beethoven's concerto. It was amusing (and wonderful) to see everyone clap at the end of the 1st movement. I have often thought that it sounds like a concerto within a concerto. So much energy and emotion.....but only the beginning. It isn't every day that a world class musician takes the time to connect with their audience/fans. It shows us where your heart is (with the music and the people it touches). We were both moved. Actually, everyone in my household (even the non-violinists) are fans of yours. I like the way you interact with the kids, and they also seem to feel comfortable around you. I am certain that you remember the days when you were a young performer, and I bet that it can be recalled in great detail. Thank you for being an inspiration to my daughter. Even if she does not make music a career, I am sure that it will be a life-long passion, like it is for me. I am certain that some young person out there will become famous some day and cite you as an influence! Finally, I want to say that your web site covers it all. I enjoy musicians who see outside their genre, and find the merit and inspiration in all types of music. My wife sometimes shakes her head in disbelief when I listen to Italian opera followed by Rush or Dream Theater, and then move on to Mozart or perhaps Buddy Guy. Life (music) is too interesting to be stuck on one channel.
Sandy Monday - April 28, 2008 It was great having you at our Lane Centennial Concert.
It was so inspiring to watch and listen to you play!
except the part that now my mom bugs me to practice more... but anyways, thank you and I hope you come back to play for us again!
Cathy Allen Monday - April 28, 2008 Saw you on Sat. night at the MAC at COD. I was blown away! I rergularly listen to classical music when I am working. I had not been to the symphony in 15 years. Loved every minute of it. Thanks for drawing me in again. I wanted to but a CD but did not have enough cash on hand. You autographed my program for my son, Charlie. He is 11 and developing an appreciation for all types of music. Charlie was particularly intrigued by your professional photo complete with violin and studded wrist bands. Your autograph is prominently displayed in his room. Thanks for creating such beautiful music!
Richard Sunday - April 27, 2008 I was part of the audience that clapped after the first movement of the Beethoven concerto at College of DuPage. At first I was embarrassed that so many people applauded at the "wrong" time, but then I joined in when you smiled. It was just great. Thank you.
Evan Sunday - April 20, 2008 Greetings! It was such a pleasure to meet you when you were here in Tallahassee a year or two ago (and perform together, as a member of the symphony). We all enjoyed your Corigliano, and also your exciting rendition of "Happy Birthday"!
Belinda Sunday - April 20, 2008 Rachel,
I attended your performance last night at Lane Tech and was so moved by your playing! You made me actually want to practice my violin. I have been playing for nine years and hope I will be able to play the Mendelssohn concerto sometime. great job, keep up the great plying!

JJ Musgrove - Executive Director Monday - March 31, 2008 Rachel, we loved having you in Columbus, GA. Your performance with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra was passionate and heartfelt. It is also great to meet someone in the business who is kind and gracious and a joy to work with. I am sure that we will keep you in mind to come back and play with us again!
Norm Hello Rachel: Found your website by accident last night while looking for fiddle or violin graphics for a bluegrass website that I 'webmaster.' I read your bio on your website. It’s a very beautiful story. God has blessed you.
Dwight Sincere thanks for sharing all these beautiful photos!! You are such a special person in the world, and have touched so many lives....
Tim Dear Rachel, I listened to your quartet performance last night. It was absolutely beautiful. I hope to see you play here in Chicago soon. I grew up playing Viola in school, my daughter just started the Viola this year in school as well. I love guitar (neoclassical) and am learning to compose my own music. I hope to record it at my home studio for my own pleasure, its just a hobby. I am very insterested in playing Viola again and incorporating it into my music with guitar. Take care.
